Have you ever stopped playing your music? I have experienced not playing the guitar for a long time. And I think I lost it already. I'ts so hard to play again and forgot the chords of the music I played before. How can I bring things back? Especially how can i bring my interest back?

Based on my experience, you will pick up the skill fast once you play again. Can you set aside some certain to play regularly?

well, I guess you really need some time to play, maybe and hour will do? I must have my enthusiasm back to music in order for me to give time to it. LOL

I've had this done, didn't play for a day and got worse. Now I make sure to play every day and for a couple hours.

I play the piano organ and guitar. But I kind of play quite intermittently. There are times when I would play some music, then stop for months. That makes me improve so little with my talent. Unlike when I used to play the piano organ and guitar daily, I was learning new tricks more. It is true that when you stop playing for sometime, you kind of get rusty. But that does not mean you've lost the touch. It just needs a little polishing. Our minds had to remember things, even our way of doing things. Try to play again, and be patient if your journey back to your peak form will take a while. Now about bringing back the interest, well, I dunno man. I am not sure what or who inspired you in your younger years to play. So I guess, you may want to search for new reasons to play the instruments you once played. Goodluck though. I am sure that you have not lost it all together. It just needs to scraped off with some rusts.

I've never really stopped playing music, but I play the guitar and bass guitar. I learned bass first, then a few years ago I learned to play acoustic guitar. I haven't played the bass in a long time, and I was afraid I was going to forget. I made myself a tape of me singing and playing, so now I can play along with the bass and it helps me to remember and keep my skills up. I always have this dream of me singing somewhere and I completely forget how to play, it scares me. And it helps if you have friends you can go and jam with and get excited about it again. hope that helps

Because of school i haven't played the electric bass and e-guitar for a few months and my playing has become rugged and my tempo became kind of messed up. But with some practice I could regain what I lost and I think you can too.

I would say it depends on what kind of music inspires/interests you. If you're into dance/techno/house etc i would say you won't go back to the guitar, but if you enjoy music that involves the guitar then get yourself to learn some songs and play them with your friends. That will definately get you all excited about learning how to improve your skills...

I've experienced that before but it will take just an hour or a day to bring back the skills. Once you play the guitar you can always play it even if you do not play it for a long time but the problem is if you forgot the chords.... Hehehehe... Just listen to some music and have a favorite. It will help you a lot if you have an inspiration....
