I remember one of the best things that my grandmother used to make and it was baked candied apples. I don't remember how they were made and was hoping that someone here could help. I remember that she put the cinnamon imperials in them (or red hots) and she would have a glaze that was on them.

Hi carolscash. I think I know what you want. Hope I can help you. Here in my country we have the same we call this Apple of Love. You need to take off the stipe and seed, without break the apple. boiling (not much)the apples with cinnamon and sugar in the water and you can add a little bit of clove as well. Draw back the apples. To make a glaze :2 cups sugar;2cups water;1 tablespoon of vinegar; red culinary pigment. Let all boil untill the syrup is ready. Take each apple (spit a spit if you want)and cover the apple with the glaze, let it dry. Is done. I realy hope that this help you because is pleasant remember things of our infancy. cheers

I may try this one only cook in the oven instead of the microwave. I am not sure that it is the same but it might be close. I really wish she would have written these down as she was such a good cook.

My grandmother was a good cook and she was always making a dessert for us with any evening meal or Sunday dinner that we had.
