Most Effective Means of Advertising

I was curious as to what you think is the most effective way to advertise. I have a new company that I started about a month ago and I haven't really advertised much because it is very expensive and I don't really have much of a budget to work with. I have posted a listing on 411.ca, myspace, facebook, and Kijiji. So far, I have received inquiried from Kijiji, which was a free ad I posted about the business. Does anyone have any other ideas of how to get your name out there when you don't have much of a budget to work with?

i self-published my novel on my own on lulu.com because it was free, and i did everything on my own. now i am market it, mostly on the internet on 50 sites, all over the world. plus, since i am a graphic design, i design my own marketing material like business cards, postcards, brochures, press kits, and when i go out locally and pass it out to people who might be interested. so keep posting on the internet everything and do marketing material and pass out everywhere you go, and word of mouth...
