how important to have the latest model of the cellphone ??

some people here are very up to date with the latest cellphone although there's only the advertising, but those people have already known its features like my friend, he's very aware with those i remembered when the first nokia N-series released, the next day my friend brought an N-series with him, it's N70 i think ?? and then he got N93i, then nokia 9500, and then the latest is a communicator in a cool red color.. yaiks !! almost all of his cellphone is my dream phones.. hahahaa, LoL i believe he puts cellphones in his top priorities such a waste of money i think i don't like to get the newest cellphone first, its price is still expensive second, its value will decrease a lot in a very short time third, as long as i can make a call and also taking pictures, that would be enough i still keep my old cellphone until now, when all people always discuss about the 3G feature, here i am with my old 7610.. hahahaa, LoL some people i knew said that getting the latest cellphone is a kind of prestige for them.. well, that's silly reason i think ^^ how about you ?? do you like to get yourself the latest gadget ?? thanks for responding .. ^^
