Cloverfield...is it real?? or fake??? what is the next monster movie??

Obviously, it's fake. If it was real, I doubt having the head of the statue of liberty knocked off it's head would go unnoticed! As for purpose, well, the short terms are to make money for those involved with the film, and to take hold of the auidences' imagination, to make them wonder "what if?"

i have never seen it yet. i have heard from those who have heard that was the movie is not worth watching. its just like the movie the blair witch project

I saw the movie yesterday. Normally I'm not very fond to watch fiction movies with monsters and creatures from another planet etcetera. But this one..I really recommend to see it! I enjoyed it from the beginning to the end. What was so great about the movie was the special filming style through first person eyes.. Very original and pleasant to watch, just like you were in the movie. Although it was recorded by a handheld camera, I don't think the filmmaking was a cheap procedure. There were plenty of nice effects which were all very detailed. One to see!
