Sci-Fi movies anyway have very little emotion in them. The emotional content even in regular movies is coming down day by day.More importance is given to technical aspects..what do you say ?

I agree with you, I watched a movie called braveheart a few years ago and just the other day again. It is such a good movie, and it goes for about 3 hrs or more. Nowadays movies only go for just over 1 and 1/2 hrs.

I lost my interest in movies almost ten years ago ever since the whole special effects chirade came about. I never could see the big deal and in alot of movies I watched (with hubby before kids)with special effect I just think lost more quality because it just looked dumb, like they were trying too hard. Emotion, well it seems like hollywood assumes the average moviegoer wants the biggest and the baddest and if they feel their model is working than thats what you get. I think it has alot to do with our obsession on celebrities and going to any movie that celebrity is in regardless of the weak plotline or in Hollywoods case, it being a movie that has been re-made 10 different times!

i observe that too, movies today are getting more and more boring and stereotype since they are focusing more on technicalities, sound effects, stunts and the like, although they add greatness to the movie still the more important part is the story concept and the emotion carried by the story lines.

I agree with you these days its just about technology and creating special effects even if one can't even understand how come its possible. But people also play a major part in it by going for that kind of movies and leaving the movies which are based on real events and emotions.

Yes they Do. I couldn't agree more. Although I must say that there are some movies that do not get to be known, but are very good to see . For example, Juno. A very nice movie, but I never heard about it in India. It didn't release here. I saw it on the Internet the other day and downloaded it. And just loved it. Also this movie Penelope is also very good. Completely romantic. Its just that these movies do not get to be seen. And Movies like SP3, Hulk, etc are given so much publicity that nobody in world would miss it. If the same kind of publicity is given to above mentioned movies and the kinds, then I think, many people would like to watch, and hopefully change the opinion. The most Emotional movie that i saw was " Tom Hank's The Terminal". Ah I just loved that guy's acting and I myself could feel his pain when I was watching he movie. bourne

yeah i agree with that..and it shows that humans are no-use at all...and it feels like machines taking over human resource already...not just in movies but in reality ..

Hi there p_vadla! I'm not really into sci-fi movies but if it's mixed with horror or suspense stuff, I am sure to want to watch it. I think that they are getting excited with the new technologies and all the new things that they can do. I must say that sometimes they are not able to inject emotions but I believe that there are still some good movies out there.
