No, I don't play these games with my son anymore. He's too old for them now. Now he likes an animated series called Naruto and in fact wants to buy the costume which costs $125. I've told him no way am I going to spend that kind of money on a costume. After all, where the heck would he wear it?

I play Simon Says with my daughter who is 3 and with the kids at work (I work as a preschool teacher). My daughter enjoys it and likes to be "Simon". I use it with the kids at work to mainly get their attention when they are running around the room. I'll say "Simon says freeze" and they freeze and then I proceed to say things like "Simon says, walk to the door, get into, put your eyes forward, walk to the playground" It usually always works and makes getting from point A to point B a bit easier when you make a game out of it. Then on the playground the kids formed a circle and started playing duck duck goose all on their own. I haven't seen kids playing that game in a long time. It was nice!

Yes children still do play these games. Just look in any school playground and you will see adults and children enjoying all the old games including duck duck goose, scarecrow tig, tig off ground, skipping, hula hoop, stilt walking etc. Not all children are couch potatoes and when encouraged they want to join in. All it takes is some enthusiam from the adults. So come on adults what were your favourite games and have you shared them with your chidren?
