How to stop a dog from pooping on the floor?

I have 2 dogs. They both poop on the floor. I hate it. It really bothers me that they do it. I work and my boyfriend works. We take them outside and it seems like they don't go to the bathroom out there. It's gotten to the point where I have to put plastic carpet protectors in the hallway upstairs and now in the living room downstairs. If anyone has any hints to help me out please do. Thanks.

I have a jack russel and he poops in the house to.I can take him out 50 times a day and he will still come right in the house and poop.Someone told me to put water a vinager in a spary bottle and where they poop spary the spot.But it seems to the best thing to use is juat water in the spray bottle.Also your house don't smell like vinager.But i just spray my dog everytime he poops someehere.Try that.good luck

That's an interesting mixture. Vinegar and water. I've never heard of that before. I'll have to try spraying the spot with it to see if it'll work. It'd be a better smell than poop or pee. My dogs are a male miniature pinscher and a female dachshund. Thanks for responding and thanks for the good luck. I will definitely try it.
