yes... you are right this is the problem which is there in many countries even in my country too.. too much stress is their on theory rather than practical knowledge... my own thinking is that why are we made to cram up up things if we don't need them in the future...

In India, no statistics show the real picture. One has to experience a thing in order to rely on it. In this sub-continent of a billion people, only 7% of them know English and 2.5% know what modern means of communication actually means. The internet is still a silhouette in the distance, despite India having a sizeable presence in the capital of computer science, the Silicon Valley. India has always had the unbeatable 'irony virus' that spreads like anything. No one can get India rid of that, not even GOD!! This is India, anything can happen here. On a whole, studies are worse in India.

i think the education is not that much bad. but not many are taking the research and all.And the thing that irritaes me is the quota system. why that should be here? why people can't just be judged on merit basis? Also the good educations like MBA etc are becoming so costly that only rich can afford so,

yes I ALSO think this quota system is a big disgrace to the system in our country.. why is this system required is just out of my mind as i think the education should be merit and performance based rather than caste based.. if also experienced it when i have seen students with lower score than me in certain exams have got better colleges than me due to them belonging to quota class(as i call it).. talking about MBA i think IIM's here are just trying to compete fees wise with their western counterparts nothing else . i think like IIT's fees should also be less there as only good students reach there .. what are your views about this?

The thing that I could say anout the education system in my country Philippines is that they really have a long way to go. The education is quite sub standard for me if I were to evaluate it. It needs some improvement. They should upgrade the Science and Technology field and dont focus to much on grammar and literature. It will improve our economy if they do this.

i am not at all in the favour of our education system prevailing in our country...it is just uninspiring and all about cramming the facts and figures that i think is of no use either. It just burdens our shoulders with the books that are mostly not even suits our interest that is the worst thing about our education system.i think rather than studying the subjects forcefully more emphasis need to be laid on the subjects and the fields of the interest.practical knowledge is more important than this type of bookish knowledge.

The education system in our country... It makes me depressed just thinking about it. You see, here, we can't get jobs unless we reach at least college level. High school graduates, in general, can only get menial jobs with meager pay. Our education system is in the form of an inverted pyramid. The most intensive training is received in the tertiary level rather than in the early years so many people have difficulty getting into college. Aside from that, we have a corrupt government that does not care much about education. Money that should pay for free schooling goes to the pocket of crocodile politicians. The teachers get measly compensation. My parents are both teachers so I know what I am talking about. Even though they work from morning till night, they are not recognized for their noble work (which is different from other countries like Japan, Korea, etc.) Perhaps this is why teachers would rather leave the country and teach somewhere else. I have a lot of resentment against the system but I am thankful that I received the best education I can possibly get from this country. I hope I can be one of those people who will change the system in the near future.

I must say that my country's education system can be quite rigid, since it practises meritocracy. Everything is very academically based, and very examinations-based, so we are all mugging for the same reason I guess. The paper chase in my country is also quite evident.. so yup.

yes i agree with you.. those students who are not as fluent in English suffer in future as everywhere spoken English is necessary.. even if they are more capable than their English speaking counterparts .... English speaking as for me should be made necessary at any level or at the schools...

There are too many people in my country. But there are not so much money for education.Too many children do not have the opportunity to the school. I was a so called fortuner.I have finished postgraduate course. But when I left school ,I was involved in jobless crisis. This is the rusult of some specialties. If the konwledge we've learnt has less relation with the socical practice, it is no use. The investion on it will be a waste.so I hope our country could have a more integrate scheme for the long run.
