controversial ending

Now the original ending to this film was...will smith makes it out alive with the lil woman and the little boy without the cure to save humanity. The New ending...he dies...but his work(the cure) carries on with the woman and the little boy to the safe zone. Now why do u think they had to take out the original ending, or which of the two would you prefer?

I agree that the ending they chose was good, Good movie in general.
How do you know the original ending anyway?

i knew about the ending because someone told me about it, then i researched it and found it on youtube.

Although I was horribly disappointed by the movie (particularly the horrible CGI effects), I much prefer the ending they went with. Too often in big Holywood movies they go with the happy ending where everyone survives and all is good. Sometimes good things don't happen without a little sacrifice
