What happens if you forget to mark a best response for a disucssion?

I started one discussion about something I was interested in just hoping to get an interesting discussion going. Instead people responded to my question rather rudely and said that I should have gone to the library and looked it up rather than asking the question on myLot. So I didn't mark any best response because I didn't have any.

Well you know there are those discussions where you just can't give a best response. As we're not penalized, we have the option not to - it's a good thing because there's no excuse for being rude on here.
