Could some body explain Threads & Posts

I could be far from correct, but this is my understanding of them: Forums are the trees - where the whole thing starts Threads are the branches - this is where the tree can expand in different directions (or even die on one side...) Posts are twigs and leaves - they extend the branches, and can beautify the tree, or wither and die
