Cebrities are the mere products of consumer society. As such they lack star quality. Film stars celebrities gain publicity about their lives as their talent is lacking substance.
A good reference to a sitire of celebrity ois the film Stage Door (1937). It gives an insight into the want-to-be famopuse person as opposed to actor.
