What would you do about an idiot boss?

I saw another discussion about incompetance in bosses and it reminded me of my husbands boss. If your boss was an idiot and told you to do something wrong - because he didn't know better, and refused to listen to your reasoning because he's the boss - what would you do? Would you just do it, even though it is going to reflect on your job performance? Or, would you do it right, and get into trouble for not being a "team player"?

He has quit jobs for this very reason. The company he is with now seems to be a very good company, but as it is a small company there is no chance of a transfer. So, as of now he is trying to wait out his supervisor. He is not well liked, and we have high hopes that he wont last much longer. I just hope my husband can hold his temper long enough.
