are typing when you talk to them over the phone? This can be a person that you are trying to get some help from or a friend

Hi there Rosekitty! Well, if it's something really important and I really need his or her full attention, it will hurt y feelings if she or he doesn't seem to see the importance of the matter. But if she or he really needs to work and do that, I might understand. Or if it's not that serious, I would admire the person for his or her talent of multi-tasking. How about you?

Hi Nanayangel! I know what you mean..if i'm asking them questions and i hear typing i wonder if they really were listening to me, since i tend to concentrate on what i'm typing i wonder if they really care what i'm saying..especially when they aren't suppose to be taking notes..so typing shouldn't be going on.

I think it is rude, but I am guilty of doing just that myself You see my daughter calls me from work and then she tells me to hold on and while I am on hold, I start to type. Usually replying here on mylot. I do stop when we start to talk again though, if I am not finished what I started, I complete it so I don't loose train of thought

Hello, Rosekitty. I have, honestly, no opinion about this subject. I have never experience this before, at least not that I know of. But hey, what is the matter? I think I would be indifferent. When I am on the phone, I can't just stay on the phone. I start walking around the house, writting things on a piece of paper, making circles, playing with something in my hand, passing my hand on my dog's fur, or anything. I cannot just stay sitting on a chair talking. I think the person you are talking about is just the same. The person can't just be on the phone. The person must be doing something else! And this is what the person does: to type. However, by doing something that requires concentration will make the person lose focus on you. Which means that the person may not be really listening to what you are saying. But, as long as the person is paying me attention, I'd be just fine. Respectfully, Munhozmib.

Hi Rose, Generally it doesn't bother me. There have been times where I was trying to get a message to someone else for the person I am talking with. In that case I want to get their words down. Also, with me being at work, I sometimes need to get into a folder for the customer that I am speaking with. Now, if it is an in depth conversation, I will stop what I am doing and sit and listen. I don't want to be distracted then. It's different if they make you feel like you are being ignored or aren't important. Hugs
