I was wondering how you get rated in each interest. I see that people have like ex: 890 out of 1568 in LIFE. Is it the number of discussions you do for that certain interest or the quality of your answers? Just curious. Also, do you get payed for replying on someones comment to your discussion? It doesn't really matter cuz I love to do this but just wondering how it all works.

depedn on my knowing, interest rating is similiar with star rating. it will show your popularity and reputation in each interest. if you seldom make discussion in one interest then your interest ranking is low.
and i don't think its correlated with our earning since its already explained too that star rating not related with our earning in mylot. for further information, i think its better if you see more in mylot guidelines

First off, you have to put some interests in your "interest" list. Start discussions under it, as well as respond. You're ranking will raise up depending on your participation on those interest, the more you respond/post in it would definitely pull you up on the ranking list.
I believe that being rated by other members also helps, from your responses and the discussions you start..
