Becoming an author

I have a deep desire to write a book. I have the story planned and have actually started a chapter. Are there any other budding authors out there? Do you know the story you want to write? I've been an avid reader for years. It would be fun to get a book published.

I have always wanted to be a writer. Recently I started a blog on a particular topic. As I wrote more, I realized that it could very well be a book idea. I'm trying to accumulate all my blog posts together and organize them in a certain manner before publishing them. I'd probably self-publish with Lulu as I need not keep stock of my books.

Good luck to you as you write. I'm trying to get myself organized. I've been doing a lot of research to put together my book. It helps to write about what you actually know.

I have had a few poems of mine published. That was a great feeling. I am writing my frist book of poems and I hope to have it finished by the end of the year. I am also working on a book of my experiences of moving to another country. I have written a spooky short story that I am in the process of getting published. I have been a bookworm ever since I was a kid. Good luck on your writing. Let us know when you get published.

I had a nephew that liked to write poems. He was quite good at it. I hope all your writing goes well. You have some very good ideas.

I hope this dream comes true for you someday, rebecca. I truly do. Good writers are usually avid readers. Like any other craft, it helps to have a lot of exposure to quality examples. I hope to publish a book someday myself..... a children's book. I have a few stories that bounce around in my head. I know that someday it will just feel like the right time and I will sit down and get in on paper.

You have the story planned, and started a chapter. then you can start writing. I myself is an avid reader. I always read other works and one day I thought why won't I write so others may read my work. Right now, I'm working on my novel and I'm enjoying it.

Thanks, I hope your dreams come true as well! Ever since I was able to read I couldn't get enough books to read. I collected them, went to the library a couple times a month etc. I think maybe I could actually write something now.

I';ve always known that one day I will write a book - most probably a novel. But as I'm still a student I'm nowhere near that stage yet. One day I'll know it's the right time and I'll do it - though I'm not niave enough to think it'll be that easy. But give me a couple of years and I might be able to spuit something out lol. Yeah I love reading too, and at times i think yeah i could do this, and then at others I'm so dumbstruck by how amazing an author is it makes me curl up into a ball and denounce any skills I might be pretending to have

I know what you mean! I start to write, but then I'm stumped. I'll pick up a good book and read and realize just how well that author put into words to make the story flow and make me want to read. I want to be that kind of author. A page turning author that a reader just can't put down. I've put into action some ideas and done my research. Now if I could only get my story to flow.
