My 2 year old biting me

My 2 year old is very loving, but sometimes for no reason he bites me. I have also noticed he like to cover his head with a shirt or cloth when he bites. Now he also puts stuff on his head and starts hitting and growling. I don't know if this is play, or something more.

my daughter used to do it alot but not so much anymore. I have read that biting can be a way to take their aggressions out. You are supposed to be firm and tell them no biting. Explain to them that it hurts. I have heard not to bite back but some people do it. Maybe if he gets bit and he doesn't like it he won't do it to you. This didn't work for us. She stopped on her own but now she spits.
