Tall people earn considerably more money

"Tall people earn considerably more money throughout their lives than their shorter co-workers, with each inch adding about $789 a year in pay." according to a new study.
It says that height matter for career success .This is really something,I neven don't know whether to believe it or not,as with a few exceptions such as
professional basketball, no one could argue that height is an essential ability required for job performance nor a bona fide occupational qualification.
Professor sanalyzed results of four large-scale studies in the United States and Britain that followed thousands of participants from childhood to adulthood, examining details of their work and personal lives.
The results of the finding is "greater height boosted subjective ratings of work performance, including
supervisors' evaluations of how effective someone is on the job, and also raised objective measures of performance, such as sales volume."
"The relationship between height and earnings was particularly strong in sales and management but was also present in less social occupations such as
engineering, accounting and computer programming."
What do you think of this research?I think it indicated the truth ,although we might not willing to admit it,prejudice in hight.Take relationships for example,I 'd rather go out on a date with a ugly tall guy than with a cute short guy.In china the hight of a boy is very important ,it's really hard for him to find a girlfriend if he's short in hight.I bet this fits in other countries too.So,what's your opinion?what's the situation in your country?

Lol,it is the same as the reporting that good appearence is better for a person to have good career.
I feel not sure about these kind of report.Maybe sometimes it has effort for the career,such as models. But you know only few people can be well-known to the public. The most one even can not earn at the ends.i think the career still depends on our ability.Most famous person have good career.
Our competent is the most importent thing to do.
Although a lot of people wanna high height,but it is mostly good a good appearance.
What is your view?

As much as we might hate to admit it, this is true - look at upper management and CEOs in your company, most of them are taller, better looking, etc. For some reason human beings equate height with power, strength & stability. That is not to say that people who are average height or below can not and are not successful, but the truth is - image counts - even when not dealing with the public, but only those inside the corporation. More attractive people also have higher earnings, even when less qualified than their less attractive counterparts.

I read a report about this research in the Georgia State University magazine. I dont know how much I buy into this. The article talked about 'union' type organizations for the support of short people, not midgets or little people. This seems pretty silly as if you were short and joined one of those orginizations, you are pretty much admitting that you think being short is a problem. I know many shorter people who have made great lives for themselves... look at Napoleon! hah! So I dont know, although the research seemed legitimate, its the only study of its kind that has been done and who knows the height of the person that did it!
I think we should wait for more research to be done before we jump to conclusions.
