Hi there Rosetta!
I used to be in Star Scout and Girls Scout until I joined Volleyball Varsity team and got inactive with Girl Scouts.
Congratulations!

We did not have girls scouts in my neighborhood. Although I was a brownie when I was a little girl in the neighborhood we use to live. When we moved I joined what was called camp fire. It was kind of like girls scouts except different uniforms and we did not sell cookies. But we use to go camping and went on lots of trips. My early teens years they made me an assistant leader. And I helped out with the girls who were 5 and 6 years old. Than when I had turned 16 They made me the leader of this age group. I loved it and had so much fun. I can honestly say this organization kept me out of alot of trouble. They kept me busy when other people my age were out getting into trouble. And I can honestly say That them memories are some of the best memories I had growing up.

It took me many years before I finally broke down and did it. Maybe you could save your spare change towards it? Good luck with your troops. Working with the girls is so rewarding.

My daughter went all the way to getting her Gold Award, I think if she wants she could now be a life time member. I was so very proud that she went all the way, and you know she had a great troop leader they went on a trip every year. Because of Girl Scouts my daughter has seen all but 13 states. She loved those trips. Good for you getting your life time membership. Enjoy it.

I would love to do that. Maybe when i get some extra money... I was just at a Outdoor training and the trainer was talking about what a great thing it is to give a lifetime membership to your daughters, if you can. Not only do you save money but, it says something about how important you think it is to have girl scouts be part of her life always.
