Today my laser pointers came in the mail, and just as I expected my cat freaked out and has wore herself out! Tons of fun. The other interesting thing I figured out is that a 6 month old baby is scared of the little red light!! Funny but her little bottom lip starts quivering, and the tears well up. My wife made me stop scaring the baby, so back to the cat we go! You should try it! Its fun!

Hahaha. So your cat is freaked out for this? I think that it will need some time before she is used to it and not be freaked out.

I have to say that this cat of yours is very nice and sweet and full of personality. A very good cat.

She is now getting the idea that she can't catch it. she see the red dot, and then looks at me and burns me a dirty look. I love her reactions, people say that cats don't have personality's, well they have never met Roxy! She has a very cool personality! She talks to me and my wife, and hates my 2 year old! Too funny! The other day I was outside for a minute, and I heard the cat meowing like she was dying, so I ran in the house and she took off for the bedroom. I followed her in to find my 6 month old crying... she does not like the kids crying, and she get me or my wife to go to the kids when they cry! (like Lassie!) She is a hoot!

Oh yep, we used to do this with our cats, we had 3 at the time and my father in law bought my eldest son one and we realised by accident that the cats loved it and so we spent ages getting the 3 of them to chase it, it was really funny. When we shone it up the wall they tried to climb the walls to get to it!

Roxy is not that ambitious, she will chase it on the floor, but as soon as it goes up the wall she meows at it once and then starts to walk away! She is too funny!

Aw, be careful with those lasers and babies/animals. I've saw them go a little nutty following the red light, even chasing one that isn't there. Also don't point it directly at them. It could harm their vision.

Aww thank you for the concern, I will defininatly be careful. I flashed it across my eyes once really quick to see what it would do and I see how it can hurt someones eyes. I would never do anything to ever hurt one of my kids! They are my world. Yes my kitty is one of my kids! That would make 6. (5 kids and one kitty)

You can get plenty of enjoyment with your cat if you play the light along the floor or other things. No matter what you have read or been told to the contrary DO NOT SHINE THE LASER IN YOUR CATS EYES! Of course it goes without saying that you would not shine the laser into the eyes of your child or any human. I hope that you will heed these warnings and err on the side of caution. I hard what the first poster heard. I would rather err with caution than find out six years later than my child was blind or had sight problems because someone told me to ignor good advice. I also would hate to have your cats eye damaged for no reason. You can both enjoy the laser One of my cats knows exactly where the light comes from and where the laser is kept. Three of them are really wild about chasing the light. They do not seem to understand what is happening if the light goes across their paws. One of our cats just watches kind of lazily. They love these things. Have a ball, this will give your kitty exercise.

My kitties would definately go wild over one of those things! I need to get one to play with them before we go to bed at night so I can wear them out so they will sleep instead of chase each other all night long!

My cat is out cold right now from playing so hard earlier!! But after posting this today, and the responses I received I will tell you to just be careful.
