I was PREGNANT!

I had the scariest/happy dream I've ever had in my life the other night! I woke up in the middle of the night, and I was really really nausuas. I lay in bed for about 2 hours moving around constantly, because I couldn't get the feeling to go away. My boyfriend woke up, and rubbed my belly so that maybe it would make it feel better. I ended up falling back to sleep. In my dream, I was pregnant! My boyfriend, he was in NY helping his mother with something. I ended up going into premature labor (it was scary because it was like I was actually in labor in the dream, during the whole thing!). The baby was born (a boy), and he was adorable. I can't decide whether this is a dream provoked by the thoughts that I want to have a child, and that I want to have a family of my own some day. Or, is it one of those dreams that is really a premonition of what is to come! What do you think?

Dino & Me - Super nice guy I met in the summer of 1973--somebody whom I'll never forget, even though our face time was only about 1 1/2 hours in an Orange Julius in North Hollywood on a "double-date" with my folks.

I can't say enough nice about Dino!
Back in 1973, I had a dream that this wonderful guy named Dino and I were married, and I had this beautiful baby boy who looked just like him (only like a baby, but he had a lot of beautiful hair on his head like Dino and had his face). However, if I have a 35 year old son somewhere, he must be ashamed of me, because he's never gotten in touch with me. So far as I know, he isn't hanging with Dino, either. Hmmmmmm...wonder how many grandkids Dino and I have by now...LOL I've had one other pregnant dream, but it was about morning sickness and my husband and the father of this upcoming baby was a guy named Richard whom I met in 1977. Actually, I crossed paths with him briefly in 1976 but wasn't really aware of him until 1977. So Michael "Dino" Fantini (so far) holds the title of being the only person whose baby I've given birth to while either asleep or awake. Bet he'd be thrilled to know this! Guess he wouldn't care either way as long as I don't hit him up for child-support. Now, one of my friends was dating a guy named Wayne in 1972, and she had a dream about being pregnant by him. When she gave birth, it was to a litter of puppies! Actually, she ended up marrying a guy named Howard, and the only two babies she gave birth to were Julie and Michelle, who are 100% human--and Michelle, in fact, happens to be here at MyLot... http://www.mylot.com/avonrep1 As for your dream, it could come from just wishful thinking, as it was with both Dino and Richard or it could actually be a dream about to come true. Have you taken a home pregnancy test yet? You might want to consider doing so a.s.a.p., because you and your boyfriend just might have something to celebrate! Even though I've only had pregnancy dreams involving Dino and Richard--with only Dino and me actually becoming parents--I've had daydreams about what it would be like with other guys. When in one of those moods, I would take a pillow and place it under my blouse and stand there in front of the mirror with a loopy look on my face while I'm Having Your Baby by Sunday Sharpe was playing in the background. At 55, I no longer do this. Baby or future baby, best wishes! Keep us posted!

Thank you for your response. You really gave me some good examples, lol. I haven't taken a pregnancy test yet, because I'm not even late as of yet. If I do become late, than I will be sure to take a pregnancy test and let everyone know the result. I would love to have children, and so would my boyfriend (we've already picked out names for our future kids!), but right now we can't afford to have them, and we also have absolutly no space for them either! So, for now, I'm hoping that I'm not pregnant.

I used to have those sorts of dreams when I was pregnant!!! When we dream it is supposed to be our minds trying to tell us things, so it could be that you are trying to tell yourself something. Have you tried looking it up on a dream website there are some really good ones around that can give you an idea of what the dream was telling you.

Thank you Gemini. A few people actually looked it up for me, and I am still trying to interpret which reason could be the one behind my dream. I'm hoping that I'm not pregnant (not that I don't want children, I REALLY DO), because we don't have the room or the money to care for a child.

Since you have a desire to have a baby, then it could be just that it's on your mind. It could also be a premonition, but most dreams don't mean exactly what they show... they have underlying meanings, and this is how I would interpret your dream, if it were not a premonition or just something that was weighing on your mind. Dreaming that you are pregnant, is symbolic of an aspect of yourself or some aspect of your personal life that is growing and developing. You may not be ready to talk about it or act on it. It could also represent the birth of a new idea, direction, project or goal. Giving birth suggests that you are birthing a new idea or project, or perhaps, represents a new attitude, new beginnings or an important, upcoming event. Alternatively, the dream may be calling attention to your inner child and the potential for your to grow, or more directly, may represent your desires or anxieties about giving birth or the anticipation for such an event to occur. (Your thoughts, as mentioned in your discussion?) To see a baby in your dream, signifies innocence, warmth and new beginnings, and the fact that it was a boy, indicates that you are developing the masculine aspects of character. Only you knows which one of these your dream may represent. It could be any combination of the three possibilities, or just one of them. That's for you to decide, my friend, but I hope I've helped a little. Brightest Blessings.

Thank you for BR, my friend. I hope that you were able to work out what your dream was all about, from my response.

There could be some premonition to it, but dreams very rarely do this (but in more remote perspective... it could be close). You may have a desire for procreation and since its not been solved or satisfied by your conscious mind, your subconsious mind produced the dream to try and solve it (or at least bring it to your attention). Of course there could be a different issue and not a desire for a child... it could be anything, but you are the one with access to your doubts and uncertainties. You could think you may lose your boyfriend (there was a distance issue in the dream). You could probably wonder if your boyfriend focuses on his mother a bit more than he should, and your dream perhaps reflected why not to dwell on that connection so much (you had your own son making you a new mommy...). The lucidity of the dream may also be a message as many times dreams are simply images or they are barely felt.

Wow, very thought out response. In fact, I was having some doubts about our relationship just before I had that dream, and they have been worked out since. It was just a misunderstanding on my own part, I should have just listened to him in the first place. The thing about his mother, well he used to be extremely close to her (a mama's boy), but he's since grown up and has shown more dedication to me. We've been together a long time, and I don't think this is a problem. Thank you for your response, it really made me think, and has helped me to understand a few things about my dream.

Maybe a premonition that come to your life soon. Every woman happy to have kid if she is married although some wants kid but not for marriage. Some afraid to have child because of the consequences of being a mother. You must be happy because you dream it hope it will realize someday.

i have the same dream too when i was still 14 years old! and i remember during that time, we were talking about pregnancy and labor in our biology class. i guess that's the reason why i had that dream... it's because of a real experience. maybe it's a sign that you might have a baby soon or your strong desire to have a family.

Personally, I agree with you when it's probably because of a desire to have a family. I've been really wanting to get married and start a family soon with my boyfriend. We've been together for a long time, and I know he is the one that I want to spend my life with, and start a family with. Thank you for your response.

woww... i think it is a very sweet dreams... for me, i never think of a dream as a premonition and i never believe it anyway... i always think that we have a dream when we are too tired and after i wake up, i just forget about it... i don't know about you... but i never focus too much on my dreams...

hello jenni, i had some sort of dream before (without the labor process ) just playing with my son. i feel the reason why i have such dream is because i have some thoughts of wanting a baby for that month and i guess my subconscious mind finally gave in to me we dream for different reason, according to sigmund freud, it could be a our unconscious desire, deep feelings/thoughts, unfinished story or just a plain dream that happens all the time. i feel in your case it is just an unconscious desire coz you mention you have thoughts of wanting a child so maybe that very night it comes out. anyway, it is a wonderful experience to have even in just a dream. hope you have a better idea now what it is like takecare!

It is possible that you want a baby, and therefore dream about it. Do not worry, it is a common happening among women. I'm a man, so I'm not to worry about those things. :)
