I don't think that is everywhere, probably just in your high school. For an advanced diploma ,mine requires three classes of one language or two classes of one and one class of another. In other words you can take three years of Spanish, or you can take two years of Spanish and one year of French. For a rgular diploma they require two years of a language of your choice. These language classes are still required in my high school. Anyway, I think these language classes are valuable, because we have more and more immigrants that speak different languages coming into the United States. It is a shame that they are gettign rid of the language requirements in your school.
