What hairstyles would look best on curly hair?

I have a curly hair and I always wear it with a pony tail. I think that curly hair is very hard to manage and to style. Do you have any suggestions how I can create a new look? I don't want to have a single hairstyle for the rest of my life. Suggestions please. ^_^

do you purchase a curl relaxer? do you straighten your hair? when you have really curly hair, there isnt a whole lot that you can do with it...why dont you talk to a hairdresser?

Ok. I am afraid to have my hair straightened. I've heard stories from my friends that they've seen cases where the result did not look that good where the hair looks really dull, weak, and dry, full of split ends, very stiff and lifeless and does bounce when you walk and it's quite expensive.

Hello pebbles. My nephew has curly hair like his father has. The longer hair he has, the curlier his hair is. There was one time he had his hair all cut off, havning a bearhead and some other times he went to the barber shop to have his hair straightened to the effect that he would like to have. I could see how he feels with his curly hair. But in fact, I think that curly hair looks very nice. There was one time in the middle and late eighties when many young people went to the barber shop to have their curly and wavy. It was very fashionable then and I was among them. hehe.
