How do you deal with people who "know too much"?

Have you met anyone who thinks she is so intelligent that everything she says or does is the only right thing in the world? I just hate people who think this way! I know someone who thinks and acts this way. As much as possible, I try my best to avoid this person, or I'm sure to find something to argue about with her. She thinks she knows everything! I hate it more when people would actually believe her, especially when she is already really wrong! Have you ever met someone like this? How do you deal with people like this?

Oh, you remind me of my colleague! She is a sort of person who knows everything. Just talk about anything with her and she will definitely (proudly) tell you everything about the topic. Her knowledge covers almost every single topic in this world and she seems to be the one who knows the best. I don't avoid her as I am too tired to do so. I will just listen to whatever she is going to say and agree with her most of the time. By doing so, I won't waste too much time listening to her. She will just get tired too, to talk to someone who knows nothing like me!

Again, thanks for the BR *winks* By the way, she stopped talking to me as I think she lost interest to tell me all the news of the world *laughs* Unfortunately for her, she requested to be transfered to my department and very unfortunately again, I am her superior now *laughs*

i also encountered this type of person and it's really annoying so every time she talks, i just usually pretend that i'm listening to her or most most of the times i'll reply to her by saying "ah, ok"

I had and he was my colleague. I will just listen to him and I do know why he can't recognize that the group is no longer interested with him, everyone just nod and tease him. In other words, no one talk to him seriously! He is very confident that he knows everything, we are just thinking maybe he lacks attention in their house and trying to get attention from everyone in the office, but, he never know , he sounds so funny already to everybody!

usually i just mmm--hmmm and let it be. you can't argue with these people...no matter what you say or what you do they have something better. it is the worst when they are so very wrong!

i have met a lot of those,ven here in mylot there are some responders that thinks they are right...they usually start their posts with the "you are wrong"...yet when you read their response they were only talking about what they have seen or search thru internet and havent experienced anything regarding the topic.as the famous saying says, "inferior man always thinks that he is superior and a superior man always thinks that he is inferior....".just ans
