Why are we limited to only 3 myLot emoticons each post?

And why do they default to the beginning of the discussion? I have found that with much longer posts, I have to remember not to post too many emoticons or else my post disappears! Since the idea is to promote LONGER, meatier discussions, I would think that they would permit more emoticons! What do you think?

If there was too high of a limit or no limit one could easily just put a lot of emoticons in their sentence to augment it unnaturally. I agree there could be more emoticons in a post 5-10(10 is pushing it). It shouldn't be higher due to the ability to abuse the privilege. If you are worried about your post disappearing you could mylot using Opera as the current stable version saves up your responses if you hit back, forward or get a bad send. You just hit back or forward to get back to the discussion. There is also the notes feature which you can use to write the discussion within the browser and then post to the response area.

What platform does Opera work on? I've never heard of it, but that sounds like a great option for me (I'm forever opening new windows or tabs). I'm suggesting that if you post several paragraphs that you should be able to have more codes in there, not for single line posts (which are ridiculous and shouldn't receive anything anyway!)

Huh. That is really odd that they limit the number to three. I guess I had no idea they limited us anyway. How did you find out that there is a limit--does it give some sort of error message if you try to use more than three? Since I'm not quite to 200 yet, I've not had the opportunity to mess with the smileys at all yet and don't know all the ins, outs, and limitations. I personally think it would be nice to use at least a few more than three in a post. Granted, I'm sure that there are some people who could go terribly overboard and put, like, 27 in each of their posts. But if there has to be a limit to keep people from abusing them, it would be nice if it was a tad higher than three.

I found out the hard way...my post disappeared! I should have been more careful! I think that includes the text enhancements, as well as the emoticons they've provided. I'm sure that some people WOULD go overboard, but it might have been nice to be told beforehand!
