moving to a new city

I have to move almost every year from onecity to another city.I start making friend from my nextdoor.I just knock door of my neighbour and told them that I am new to this city.I donot know any thing about this city.Please help me from where I will buy vegetables,which shops gives me best discount......In most cases the friend start in this way.My neighbour then introduce me to other people.
