Have you read the novel Pride and Prejudice? I read it in my university time and this is the first English novel I read from the very beginning to the end. I like this novel very much, especial the heroine, Elizabeth Bennet. She is a 20-year-old girl, and is the second daughter in the family. She is intelligent, wise, independent, and also she is lovely, clever and humorous. She has her own strong personality which makes her outstanding among other daughters of the Bennets. In order to find a wealthy son-in-law, Mrs. Bennet took her five daughters to participate a ball held by Mr. Bingley, a wealthy young bachelor. She met Bingley's best friend, Mr. Darcy, in the ball for the first time. Darcy seemed proud to all the guests in the ball. He never showed any interests or enthusiasm to the ball. It happened that she heard what Mr. Darcy talked about her family. Darcy thought her family was ill-breeding when he saw some crazy behaviors done by her mother and her youngest sister Lydia. So Elizabeth refused Darcy's invitation to dance. Later, her older sister, Jane, fell in love with Mr.Bingley. Actually, Bingley also loved Jane very much. But Darcy persuaded Bingley to get rid of Jane beacuse of her ill-breeding family. Elizabeth knew why Bingley left Jane without a word from a friend of Darcy. So she was very angry with Darcy. However, Darcy, the proud man, found Elizabeth was so clever and intelligent after he talked with her some times. He was attracted by Elizabeth deeply. So he proposed to Elizabeth. But what he got was refusal from Elizabeth together with what Elizabeth thought about him. Darcy wrote a letter to Elizabeth to explain what he had done to Bingley clearly and also interprete the hostile relationship between him and Wickham, who Elizath thought was a victim, but was a hypocritical officer actually. Darcy helped the Bennets find Lydia, who eloped with Wickham. Besides, he gave a lot of money to Wickham to ask him to get married with Lydia. What Darcy had done to the Bennets prevented the elopement scandal. Elopement is a family scandal in that time and would effect the whole family. So the Bennets all appreciated Darcy very much. The misunderstanding was clear between Elizabeth and Darcy. They showed love to each other in the end. It had a happy ending.

Yeah, pride and Prejudice is prob my favourite of Jane Austen's novels and Lizzie Bennet is one of the best classic literature heroes. She's very clever, witty and unphased my practically anything! She also has a very good understaning of human nature, which Jane Austen herself has and this comes across well in liz's character. I must admit i was one of those people who thought classics were boring. But after loving TV adaptions, like BBCs Pride and Prejudice (the one w colin firth) i decided to read them and was very surprised how enjoyable they are!

We share the same passion for Pride and Prejudice!! I'm in love with the novel, I've read it thrice. Readers always have the same impressions to classical novels: BORING and tiresome to read. Why? For once in a while, you'd be compelled to open your pocket dictionary to understand the words their using. In my opinion however, this adds to these novels' beauty and Pride and Prejudice is one of those novels. This book's eternal and immortal. You will love the main characters' witty bickering. Hail to Jane Austen. The book immortalized her indeed!

Am a fan of 'Pride and Prejudice'. I love the heroine Elizabeth coz she has wits. I think even the writer Jane Austen had wits to write about a girl like Elizabeth at that time... The love between Darcy and Elizabeth is so strange and beautiful in a way. I was disappointed when I watceh the movie though coz i don't think 'Keira Knightley' made a good Elizabeth. The actor was good though. I think Elizabeth should be more like Kate Winslet or someone else...She was very beautiful...Keira is too skinny for that role. Great novel i have to admit. Even Darcy was so romantic in the end. Not knowing how to declare his love to Elizabeth. I've read it thrice i think and am surely going to read it a few more times after :)

You should read the other Jane Austen books if you like this one. It's been a long time since I read any of her books but maybe I'll go and read them again.
