Does a higher rating mean that you make more money?

I have noticed a lot of posts about supposed "trolls" and raing droppings and all that. I do not understand the big deal! Does a higher rating mean that you can possibly make more money than people with a lesser rating? As long as we enjoy ourselves should the rating really matter that much? It sounds kinda like in school and you are either in the popular group, the not so popular group, and so on. I am just curious as to does this rating effect a lot on the site or is it just a popularity thing? I don't really care what mine is as long as I have fun and I really enjoy talking to you all, getting advice, getting help, and making new friends. So, if you can please give me some insight on this.

I think ranking don't effect on your earnings. You earn more if you post quality and lengthy disucssions and respones. So i don't give any importance to rankings and star rating i just try to post quality and lengthy discussions. Thanks

I think the initial idea of ratings in mylot is supposedly to mean higher rating = more earnings. But for some reasons, this has not been implemented or maybe there's no intention to doing it. In my opinion, the rating is important in the sense that members with low ratings are getting that because they irk other people off and people are giving them negative ratings... But of course, it can be argued that there are members who are not rating other people fairly and that cannot be helped...
