Do girls enjoy the attention they get based on looks?

I don't know about you, but I find it mighty annoying when people keep staring at you depending on the way you are dressed. It's for myself that I dress but sometimes or maybe more often than not, I get put off by the amount of attention I get just because of what I wear. As a result, I tend to tone down the way I dress... its not that what I wear is skanky or tasteless, just more creative, unique combinations that reflected my personality.
Suppressing my style is not a long term solution. Can someone please teach me to deal with the attention that comes with dressing and looking your best?

Maybe at some point, you get to enjoy and appreciate your efforts for making yourself beautiful when people notice your looks and tell you, you look great, etc.
I personally think that proper grooming is important and you always have to look presentable, like an eye candy not an eye sore to the people around you.. of course over doing it is not part of this. I hate people who dresses too loudly just so they will be noticed. Its really quite obvious that they are insecure and wants attention.
