Britney Spears

I didn't like her either, so needless to say, I'm not really excited about her being on another episode. I know the people behind the show are scrambling because it is one of the shows on CBS' list of shows it might not bring back next season. But I really don't think Britney Spears is the kind of person who appeals to the typical HIMYM viewer. I still suspect that initially it was just to get new viewers to show CBS that more people could tune in, but I'm sad that they needed to bring her back. I agree, any random actress could have done just as well.

I'm not a fan or anything. I think she did ok. I wish that she wasn't the reason for the high ratings though. I want the show to do good on its own, not because they got a freakshow guest "star" that brought in the ratings. That show is hugely funny without her. I hear too that she is going to be on again. I'm for it if it will bring more people to watch and see how funny the show is.

Yes, anyone could have filled the role. As has been mentioned, HIMYM is facing possible cancellation, so they needed to really pull in the ratings. Who better to do that then the train wreck no one can stop watching? It worked, and if it helps bring the show back for another season, I won't complain about her appearance or any future appearances.
