Does anyone else suffer from germaphobia. I can't stand germs i'm a germaphobic. I don't eat, drink after anyone not even my family. I hate when someone is sick I start getting high anxiety levels and stressed out thinking about all the germs on this sick person. In there hands on there clothes all over them. If someone is sick around me I avoid them for the rest of the day or we talk outside where I can have fresh air. If there in my house I wear kleenex or a rag over my mouth. I stay far away if possible. As soon as they leave I dust everything and I spray lysol. I'll even wash the sheets if neccesary. I even hold my breath around people passing that are sick. I can't stand it I've tryed not to care but I freak out and can't help it.

I constantly wash my hands because of this. My hands are my life, in a way. I do massage therapy and bodywork. I want my hands as germ free as possible when my clients are on my table. I was obsessed with it before I started doing massage and bodywork, but after I became involved with it I flipped out it seems. I am just glad to know their are others that do this as well. I hold my breath also when walking by someone sniffly or sick and can't wait to get home and shower the germs off of me.

I have anxiety over germs and i really hate them, i just cant stand if any thing like that happens. But i beleive more or less every one hates germs and some people fear and some people get anxiety attacks. I would suggest you can just ignore these and dont think of these toomuch and just let it go. to get tips on anxiety you can visit my blog which is dedicated to panic attack and anxiety.

I am emetophobic which means I am phobic of puke! I am only germaphobic when it comes to the possibility of a stomach bug being passed on. If someone has a cold and is coughing and sneezing, I am not crazy about it but it doesn't get me all upset either.

Yeah I don't like puke if it's because there sick, otherwise I don't mind it if they puke and there not sick like cold or flu sick. I just hate germs can't stand them. I think about them quite often but in my own house it's not so bad because I keep it clean.

I would probably make you feel anxious just by my philosophy on germs - I think the more the better :) Your body builds resistance to these germs so if you get a cold you don't get as sick usually.

Yeah i have heard that and that's what some of my friends said to but it's the building resistance to germs thing i don't like either that means i have to come in contact with them and i can't do that. plus i just hate the whole sick part it makes my skin crawl.

My youngest son is 15 now and I think he has become germaphobic. I am actually reaching a level of concern over it. This all started at about 13. Suddenly he would no longer drink or eat after anyone, which I thought wasn't so bad because it is actually healthier. But he won't even eat what is left on my plate if I have used a fork because the fork at some point has touched both my mouth and my food. It is so bad that he won't drink from a two liter in the fridge for fear that someone else may have drank out of it. Also he believes he cannot swallow his own spit. He thinks that it will make him sick in some way, so he is constantly spitting either out the door or into the garbage. At least now it's in the garbage. When it first started he didn't want anyone to know so he had a blanket in his room that he would spit on and then hide under the bed. (way gross) He isn't quite so bad about if one of us is sick yet, well nobody has really been ill so I'm not sure. You are the first true germaphobic I have even seen online or spoken to. In a way it's kind of a relief to see someone else out there who suffers from this. How old were you when it started?

I believe I was 14 when mine started I won't touch someone elses plate either. when someone asks for a drink of mine and they say i'll waterfall it i give them my whole drink. It's definelty weird for people around me when I say I don't share drinks or food my friends think i'm weird but i can't help it i hate germs. I dust almost everyday clean towels and sheets daily, my dogs get bathes once a week even my cat which is much harder. i constantly wash my hands and my tile floor, and I desantize everything a couple times a day escpecially if someone comes to my house sick. It can even be allergies which isn't contagious but i always think they have a cold or something, I try not to even talk to sick people id rather text. I'm glad you got some relief it's probably good that he doesn't eat or drink after people but the way I handle things is way to extreme- oh did i mention i take vitamin C pills daily to prevent sickness also ecanacia. I'm just way to extreme about it but I can't help i hate germs.
