My mom taught me how to cook simples things like macaroni and cheese when I was around 10 years old. I taught myself how to cook alot of things when I moved out of my parents house and had a family I just looked up receipes and tried them.

Hi, I learnt to cook properly only after I got married. Before that I have been in kitchen many times to help out or make some special dishes for my father. The first ever thing I did in the kitchen was milk boiling when I was just 10 years old. No gas stoves or hot plates at that time. Only kerosene wick stoves werte there. Our servant who used to do everything went to the hospital for child birth. My mom had just returned from the hospital, so cooking was out of question for her. So I had to help her out. She sat by the table and asked me to boil the milk. No milk cooker or anything. Boiled the milk under mom's supervision that day. After that I had been in kitchen now and then but nver learnt to cook a proper meal. Only after my child was born I started cooking and now I am known as a very good cook.

Hello that was 44 years ago, at that time there was no gas or range for that matter. The kitchens used to be dirty but you have to eat!!!! right? Now we can all say that we do not like to cook in the dirty kitchens but in those days only dirty kitchens were available

My first memories of being in the kitchen was when I was 9 or 10 years old. I was given simple chores like frying eggs or making rice. When I was a teen, I abandoned the kitchen leaving the work to either my Mom or people who live with us who cook. When I got married, I realized that my cooking skills are dismally rusty. I decided to brush up and started studying nutrition, spent hours watching the cooking channel, and learned from friends who are good cooks. In a matter of months, I became confident of my skills again. I guess when it comes to working in the kitchen, it is never too late to learn.

I think I kinda picked it up as I grew up. I don't remember the first thing I ever cooked on my own because I was so young. My mom was home a lot when I was very young and was always cooking. I was always supervised until I was about 8 or 9. I remember frying bologna, too, or grilled cheese. It was never anything complicated until I got older.

I started cooking when i was like 14, its the time when my mom isn't always around. She was busy working and travelling so I have to cook for my 2 older brothers and little sister. I really started to learn cooking when i was in college when I had a boyfriend hehehe. I was inspired to cook different cuisine for him.

The first thing i ever made was tea. I was a very good observer . I used to observe my mom while cooking and i picked up from that. I started making simple things like boiling rice , boiling milk , making chappati's at the age of 14. After that we had lots of cooking practicals in college so i picked up pretty fast after that. ~Pinks~

if it's instant noodles, i started cooking that at the tender age of 6 years old. it was when instant noodles was kinda new in my country. we basically ate instant noodles every other day. after so many years, i actually can say i can cook instant noodles pretty well. it's an art to make the noodles al dente while ensuring that the taste goes into the noodles. as for dishes, think my first dish is fried eggs when i'm a teenager.
