My neighbour is trying to do a surprise party for her 8 year old daughter. Its going to be at her house, and she wants to try and do a proper party with proper party food and games. The children range from 9 downwards. So far for games she has pass the parcel, sleeping lions. For food jelly and ice cream. I think she is also trying to create the sort of party she had when she was a child in the 1970's1 Any help will be gratefully recieved. Many thanks

Kids that age really love balloons! Here are a couple balloon games I know the kids will love. 1. Blow up balloons and tie each one to a piece of string about 18 inches long. Tie a balloon around one ankle of each child. At the word go, kids try to step on one another's balloons without getting theirs stepped on. When your balloon breaks, you're out. The last one still wearing their balloon is the winner. 2. Divide the kids into two relay teams. Line them up close together. Give each team a balloon. The first one in line puts the balloon between their knees and passes it to the second player. The second player has to grab it with their knees without touching it. See which team gets their balloon to the end of the line the fastest.
