Livejournal vs. myLot Obviously there are different uses for each, which uses cross over? What are some alternative uses for myLot other than just question-answer format? Get creative.

Although it does still fall into the Q&A format, I've used myLot to connect with other people in my field or for advice/help in inderstanding a (medical)condition or situation in layman's terms-which makes it easier to explain to others. I also have posed many questions about religion (as I'm interested in all religions and practices) and have learned a great deal about world religions and customs.

I'm thinking in that kind of context it could be used for survey-type studies and perhaps research for educational papers.

Alternative uses for myLot? This is an interesting question and a good one. Right now it appears that our options are faily limited to discussions forum, PMs, and image hosting while myLot builds name recognition and its user base. At some point I imagine myLot will change its reward structure to reward only the behaviors that are beneficial towards its longer term goals. I think we're starting to see that with the newly published guidelines. But for now, I think the only real options beyond question-answer format are to get ones' photography out there in front of other people and to be able to promote other links and services by posting about them.

I read your comment on private messaging as pre-menstrual syndrome. had me goign for a moment. It would be helpful for us to be able to help them if they published their longer term goals somewhere I think.
