omg. what I day I had today. normally I am pretty calm in situations, Its how I can handle the situation better. But today I was freaking out, literally shaking. My 10 year old son had a friend stay the night last night. Earlier this morning they were outside with my two and half year old son. They were looking for bugs when I came in the house for a few minutes. Next thing I know my 10 year old comes in with the baby crying. My sons friend was swinging a bat, and my baby walked into a swing. He had a huge goose egg right above his left eye. I immediatly grabbed him and went to the hospital. It didn't take long before we were in the back. The doctor came, looked him over, he wasn't knocked out and he hadn't thrown up. The doctor said he looked like he was going to be fine but we would do a ct scan just to be on the safe side. We get him in the ct room and the machine wouldn't work, so now we are having to drive to another town which is 30 minutes away to get a ct scan. On the way there my baby starts throwing up, and wants to go to sleep. my husband is now hauling butt to get there. we get there and it takes forever before they take us back, and they were expecting us. well anyway finally after the results come back, he is fine. No fracture, just some torn tissue that will heal. He is now running around and acting himself. thank goodness. but we will keep a close eye on him for the next 24 hours. my son and his friend was really tore up over it all, along with the parents. We know it was an accident, and explained that to them, my baby even went up to my sons friend and gave him a hug. Has anything like this ever happened to you?? Did you have to wait long in the ER?? How did you react??

OMG I would have freaked out. I have never had something like that happen. My son was hitting a big ball, kind of like a beach ball, with a bat and the bat bounced back and hit him in the eye. He split his eye open and came in the house holding his eye and blood was running out. I freaked out and wanted to take him to the hospital, but he didn't want to go, so I just watched him for a while. He was fine and I think he could have used some stitches, but he didn't want them. If he would have had a big goose egg, I would have taken him though. I hope your son is doing better. I really feel sorry for him.
