Some drivers out there cannot...

Today I am going to rant at those drivers out there who seem to think that the following is correct. If you drive on the right in your Country please swap all the following rights for lefts and visa versa. I was driving home last night and coming up to the next roundabout. As I needed to turn right I pulled into the right lane and indicated right. I pulled up to a car on my left and we both waited for the roundabout to clear. We both pulled into the traffic and the driver of my left went past the first turning. No problem I think - he must be turning off at the next exit. So we continue round the roundabout and I prepare to glide in to the outside lane ready for my right turn. However, the driver to my left does not take the exit, oh no! He is going to turn right - having been in the left lane and without indicating. Fortunately this is not the first time some idiot has done this so I compensate for his stupid driving. I just want to say to these morons - "Learn To Drive" even better sell your car and walk you are dangerous... Ok rant over.

LOL! I know exactly what you mean. There are so many of these moronic creatures out there. I mean how difficult is it to indicate correctly and follow the road rules. I often wonder how such people even managed to GET a license. I'm only on my learner's here in Australia, and although I passed the initial computer test weeks ago to get my licence, today was the first time I've ever driven because my mum doesn't have the time. Dad came in from his house and took me driving and I was actually really good! I'm really uncoordinated in my day-to-day life, so being able to actually drive, and well, made me so proud. It was after about 1 hour of driving around the industrial area that I was confident to drive on the main road, and ended up taking us out to lunch, driving over to a friend's house, on the highway and home again. AND I followed all of the road rules =D With the amount of people who talk sh*t about learner and provisional drivers, it's funny how many fully licensed drivers were making a mess of it today, including getting way too close to me, not indicating correctly or even at all, and making illegal turns. I'm so proud of myself =P Okay, rant and brag over =P =D

Well done on passing the first part of your drivers test. I am pleased I am not the only person to suffer from the idiots on the road. We should have a scheme where you can nominate these idiots and their cars get crushed... It would make great Saturday evening viewing.

Actually, one step better than watching it from the comfort of your own homes =P: A committee of like-minded drivers who are sick of these morons going out on car-stomping rampages, relieving stress and saving lives from careless road injuries all at the same time! =P

Roundabouts are the new 'in' thing here in this part of Italy. They got rid of traffic-lights and replaced them with round-abouts since about five years ago and they start coming like mushroom! So of course anyone who learnt to drive previously has not had proper tuition as to how to negotiate a rounda-about - and the situation you describe occurs almost daily and on every single round-about here It is frustrating and makes me think that as time goes by and new things are brought in on our roads, maybe there should be some sort of compulsory updating of driving tests even after one has been driving for many years.

No not yet Can't see the poin of a round-about with traffic lights as well. Surely the whole point of a round-about is to keep traffic flowing. If you stick traffic-lights on it the traffic would stop I think it will soon be time I start taking the bus and get rid of my car - it's all getting too complicated for an old woman like me

I do have some sympathy with your idea. But I prefer the idea of crushing their cars - just for the fun of it I hasten to add. lol Have they started adding traffic lights to roundabouts in Italy yet? This is the next stage and it makes the humble roundabout even more scary...

Idiots are everywhere it seems. I really don't understand why a lot of them do what they do. I mean 'let's weave through heavy traffic, without signalling, whilst speeding and using turn lanes to dodge other vehicles. Yes, that's just bloody brilliant. Too bad the cops don't do much about that stuff so people figure since they got away with it then it must be okay. Or something, there has to be some form of murky logic in there, I hope... Either that or cars need to get un-safe so that idiots who try stuff like that don't get to do it too many times... but then those of us driving around them are in even more trouble... Then again since we started making them out of freaking plastic they're pretty unsafe as it is.

A nice idea making cars unsafe - how about a spike in the steering wheel rather than airbags?
