Baked fruit

Do you ever bake fruit in the oven? We went to a BBQ last night at some friend's house, and they cooked fruit on the grill. I've never had cooked fruit (except for baked apples,) and was really suprised at how good it is! Have you had cooked fruit? What kinds of fruit have you baked? Do you do it on the grill or in the oven? Do you need a sauce or anything, or do you just pop it in the oven?

I generally don't like to eat cooked fruit, but I've also had apples and pineapple both baked and fired up on the grill. I've also had fried bananas and plantains and they're very good. And, berries taste good in pies and tarts. But, mostly, I like to eat fruit straight and uncooked.

I like pineapples grilled. I have been using more fresh fruit, fruit salsas, and juices with my meats lately. I made orange beef, peaches over chicken, cherries over pork. There are some really talented cooks on here and I hope someone responds with even more ideas. I'd love some. Here is a link to the discussion regarding using fruit - I think you would enjoy some of the comments made - there were some very good ideas. http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/1423892.aspx

I'm vegetarian, so no meat dishes here, but I've thought about incorporating some of those seasoning ideas into tofu or Chick'un - they should probably soak up the sauce pretty well. Thanks for linking me to that discussion!
