I like all kinds but all I listen to nowdays is country. My five year old has started singing all the time from the radio and I would rather this be what she sings. Except redneck woman!! You know the part I mean. A girl I use to be friend's with had a little girl that would walk around singing this. Anyways we are in the truck and my fiancee' turns it to a station that plays ACDC, Metallica, Ozzy, and older stuff like that. I love all three of those and some more of them like Nirvana, Lynard Skynard, Steve Miller Band, and stuff like that too, but my five year old sings what she hears and I told him that I really do not want her in church singing Hell's Bells or something. If something that comes on that's country and I don't want her to sing it I will turn it off but he just leaves it on. I suppose she will hear it eventually though. So, do you ever think about what kind of music you listen to around your children? I know a 11 year old that use to know all the words to that song laughy taffy. And this just is not a song I would want my daughter to sing. What are your views here?

I really enjoy rock/metal. I never found myself listening to pop bands or boy bands (N'sync, backstreet boys, etc)even when I was younger. I think most rock musicians are very intelligent when it comes to writing songs. How can they express their deepest emotion using hardcore rhythm and heavy music? Not all people can do that. And for that, I admire rock musicians big time. ^^

My son loves classic rock which my husband and I listen to often. Occasionally I will listen to country. My son really likes to sing along with the songs that he hears. Smoke on the water is his favorite since he was a baby and bopping along with it in the car. My husband got such a kick out of it. I don't have a problem with most of the songs my son hears. I will not listen to rap and my son doesn't listen to it either. He is 4. Lately though, he has been singing alot of songs he hears on Barney. I think it is cute how he will just start singing to a song. If I heard something that I didn't want him to hear I would probably turn it off.
