Rice crisis...

Recently we are suffering from crisis in our country. I don't know the reason behind it but I was wondering why it happen when we are one of the biggest rice rice field that produce rice. My question is why is this happening. Our fellow country men were falling in line just to buy a cheaper rice. Now our commercial rice here were ranging from 30 to 40 pesos almost a dollar for a kilo. It's very high and because of the crisis every person are allowed to buy just 2 kilos. Need to fall in line again in the next day to buy cheaper rice. How about do you experience the same thing as we do?
