My son is turning eight on May 12th so we're going to have his birthday party on saturday. I've gotten the days off from work and put in a request for banked vacation time and will be paid for those two days. It worked out well in that part. My son has decided that he wants his birthday to be about Transformers so what we did is made our invitations. They turned out very nice. I used a lot of my scrapbooking skills and threw some together only because of our tight budget for this week until payday which is on friday. I really hate doing things at the last minute but really what choice do I have right now?? He forgot to take his invitations to school yesterday because we had a bit of a rush in the morning and we left them on the coffeetable in the living room. So last night after he was finished his homework he put them in his school bag just to make sure he wouldn't forget them again! I figured I would make a transformer's cake on friday night and decorate it for saturday morning and have it ready for 1pm when the other kids get here. We have a scavenger hunt game planned out that we made up and we still need to discuss the rules yet. I've made cut outs of the transfomer symbol which is a transformer's head, and we want to split up the kids into two teams and they have to find the different colored cut outs and one team is the Autobots and the other is the Descepticons. (I hope I spelled that right) I just haven't got the rules down pat yet.. maybe you could help me figure this out? We're obviously going to hide the cut outs in places around the yard but there has to be certain rules for the game and that's just what we're having trouble with. Any ideas??? I don't know how long this game should take but I planned his party to be two hours and the first hour would be for games and playtime and the rest would be for eating snacks and cake then opening presents. I could maybe throw in a game of transformer bingo if the scavenger hunt doesn't work out. I have to also have some prizes for those boys because what's a scavenger hunt without prizes? I'm sure my son is going to have a lot of fun with his friends! I'm excited about making the transformer cake and I'll take pictures of everything.

A scavenger hunt is a cool idea, you really don't need much rules, no stealing cut out from each other and everybody has to get back in like 45 minutes. The team with the most cut outs win!
