Still shots from video clips???

Okay, so go ahead and call me blonde.... I borrowed a friends digital camera the other day for the carnival because it's fancier than mine. So fancy in fact that I had a heck of a time figuring out all the gizmos and gadgets. Apparently, I spent most of the afternoon taking video clips instead of the really good pics I thought I was getting. I've got about 20 short video clips of the subject when I snapped it - starting the video instead of snapping a picture - and then the ground for long periods as I'm walking around - until I go to take the next shot and stop the video instead. So now I'm hoping to be able to rescue some of the pictures that I thought I was taking. I need some suggestions on simple programs that will allow me to get still shot jpgs out of video clips. Any help will be greatly appreciated

I believe any video player has a freeze(pause) and capture screen feature, then you can save it in JPG format. Depending on the quality of video that might not result in such a quality picture. Maybe select frames that has very little movements, to produce good clear pictures.

thanx for the help. It took a bit and a couple of different attempts but I found that quicktime lets you take a picture of the screen. But your right about the quality - the picture looks very pixalated.. not at all what I was hoping for.

I am not sure but I think Nero can do that, I find the digital cameras a little daunting, they are wonderful things but I get all the symbals all mixed up, I hope you can salvage your pics..
