Unless you are willing to hold parties, it could be worth it for you. However, there are MUCH better makeup out there... I am a rep with Marlo Quinn and we offer Mineral Makeup (aka Bare Minerals). You should check us out at http://www.MQForeveryone.2ya.com There are many other opportunities out there besides MK. I joined a few companies that offer FREE sign up without any purchase requirements. With MK, you'd have to make a purchase of $200 every 3 months! Please visit http://www.WAHMHQ.go.cc for more info.

MK - Best Selling Brand since 1993
You only need to place ONE $200 in a 12 month period to be considered a consultant with Mary Kay. Mary Kay was rated #1 Again this year in Skin Care and Cosmetics and has been since 1993 - Never heard of MQ before, has anyone else????

My wife got offered the chance to do it. However, the start up costs are way too high and everyone she knows has had problems with their products. She sells Avon instead.

I think it was something like $20. Plus, you don't have to meet any specific selling goals like Mary Kay.

my mother did it about 3o years ago and she did make a bunch when she did it. if you have a client base than i would think that it would be worth it.

I would love to have it done myself one of these days. My friend had it done and she loves it and thought about doing or running a small business about it too. It would be nice to have something started and expanding in the long runs.

I really don't like marykay product's. It is expensive and I feel not really that good. I use MAC make-up and really no preference on cleansing product's.

What your consultant is not telling you is that even though it is only $100 to join and it only costs $200 to get active, her director will try to talk you into purchasing inventory. Most directors try to push the highest inventory package which is $3,600. The lowest package they like to promote is the $600 package. Please, please, please check out some other sources before signing up. As a former sales director, I can tell you that there is a lot of manipulation and misleading information given out there. Some sites you can check out are: fightingfatigue.typepad.com/my_mary_kay_truth www.pinktruth.com www.pinklighthouse.com

I'm so glad you put that out there. I've never sold MK and after reading Pink Truth, I am so glad I never had the "opportunity" to do so. MK seems to be one of the worst, most cult-ish MLMs out there, right up there with Amway, or Quixtar, or whatever it is they're calling themselves now. Anyone who sells MK....Please, get out of the fog. Stop "Faking it till you make it." Step back and look at just how in debt your "profit" is putting you...

I find Mary Kay's product too expensive for me. A few of my friends including a cousin and a sister were into it but got out of it as they found it hard to find parties or even people to buy. The money was not what they thought it would be and they are all still working at their day jobs. My sister is now into Avon and still just making that little extra money, she's still working at her day job. I have reactions to a few of the products too. edm2000....if you are still looking for a home-based business, I just got involved in the Wellness Industry which is helping me two ways, my health and extra money. With all the changes going on in the schools, MacDonalds and now KFC, all is turning towards the wellness of the people. Well, if you are seriously looking, I can tell you about the one I am into.
