Have you checked how cheap are the new computers and laptops these days. Most of them are made in China or Taiwan. They cost half of what they used to be. I bought a second hand laptop and it cost me $1000 / Php40000. The new Laptop brand is Acer from Taiwan just costs $675 / Php27000. Is this a good thing? I'm just worried that the cheaper they get the easy they break down. What do you think?

Well, as a lot of people say... I've tried these Acer laptops and they works fine (specially when they're new). They would last couple of years before you need to replace some of the parts. But if you'll ask me, I'll go for those Higher end computers (like MAC's, Dell, Sony, Toshiba). I am not saying that the lower priced notebooks easily breaks down... It's just that the brands I mentioned above will last longer. I hope it helps.

well I think the new computers that are made now are cheaper and doesn't last as long. The models from the '90s are more durable I think, and they last longer.

Half the cost , half the lifetime. But i guess we have to take note that technology gets better by 2 years or so.. so i guess even if they are cheap as long as they last longer than 2 years its worth it i guess. My brother had a acer laptop which lasted him for 5 years ,well recently it just got messed up and he traded it in for a brand new one. Plus this days more people are buying them as well so i guess mass production also will lead to price cut..well i am gonna change mine too, maybe next year.
