I Am Soooo Done Selling on eBay!

So here I am finding that yet another buyer has filed some ridiculous dispute against me. I make sure everything works before I ship it and I always pack everything so carefully, yet somehow when it gets to the destination it seems not to be working correctly. Please, I am sick and tired of being taken advantage of. I am so annoyed right now. This has happened in the past and I always get stuck holding the bill. Well enough is enough! No more selling on ebay for me!

I quit selling on ebay about 14 months ago, I had 1599 feedbacks when I quit.. I had a few disputes and a few chargebacks and was always threatening to quit.. The very last one, I guess the straw that broke the camels back, was a set of 3 vintage Lefton Lighthouses, all in perfect condition.. I had only 1 bid for 8.99 and one of them by itself had sold earlier on ebay for 15.00, but I had 3 in my listing, 8.99 was the final bid although it was worth much more.. The auction went off on Thursday and at the time I was having to spend a lot of time with my mother, she was dying.. I emailed the winning bidder and asked her if it was ok to ship her items on Monday as I could not get to the post office before then because I had to be with my mom over the weekend, she did pass away soon after, the buyer said that was just fine and not to worry.. Well, I shipped it on Monday and waited for about a week before leaving her positive feedback.. Well, about a week later she did a chargeback with Paypal, and after a few weeks Paypal did finally find in my favor but her credit card company found in her favor.. Her reason for filing the chargeback was that she didn't receive her items within 7 days.. That was even after I had explained why I had to ship on a Monday instead of on Friday.. Well, I was out my merchandise, my listing fees and final value fees, my Paypal fees, my shipping fees, the supplies that I used to pack it, even the gas money for taking it to the post office to ship it plus she had the nerve to leave me a negative feedback.. Well, that one did turn me against ebay and I haven't done anything else since then.. Some of the bidders are just no good scammers and they have a good racket going on.. When you sell on ebay and use Paypal, you have no protection from anyone who is out there to use you, ebay and paypal do not offer any protection to the sellers, they say that they do but in reality, they don't.. Sorry about being so long winded but I was considering starting selling again on ebay but I believe that I just talked myself out of it.. Have a great day..

I have since then sold on Craigslist and never had to pay a fee, the customers come and pick up the merchandise and give you cash.. that is it, no fees, no hassles, no feedback, just a good sale..

This is among MANY of the reasons that I have not bought OR sold ANYTHING on greedyfeepay since February. I started seling on Loudfrog, it is FREE and they only charge 1% of the final value fee. It is getting incresingly more traffic all the time. Only when people like yourself and the many other GOOD sellers stick up for themselve and STOP selling... EBAY will feel the effects.. until then, they will continue to take advantage in hopes that other sellers wont be aware that there are BETTER alternative websites out there. Good luck in what ever other venue you choose to sell on, just be STRONG do NOT crumble and go crawling back to greedbay... this is what they are hoping for.

I have never even heard of loudfrog. I will have to check it out. It sounds like a much better alternative. Thanks!

There has been a number of fradulent buyers on eBay lately and you can report them to eBay as such. eBay will check their buying history and can, and do, ban them from the site if they are found to be frauds.

I sell over 100 items a month on ebay. I've tried other sites. None of them worked because they do not have enough traffic. If I have to drive traffic to a new website I might as well drive them to my own website. That way you get repeat buyers and never have to pay anyone any fees. Amazon would be the only other site I can tell you to try.

Try iOffer.com - they don't charge you to list your item, and only if it sells do they ask a nominal fee. Your listing stays listed either until it sells, or as long as you stay active on your account. If you haven't logged in within 30 days, your item gets deleted.
