How do you find friends here on myLot? When do you add someone? Do you seek them out, or only add them when someone strikes your fancy?

Typically if I friend someone it's because they said something I find very witty, or they voiced an opinion or recounted an experience that really moved me. I don't go around trying to find people to add, but I do accept pretty much any request, so it seems I always have new friends.

I do that too, if I really like what a person has said!

I dont really have a certain reason why I do I guess I just do. I like everyone to be open to my discussions. I cant say I've really gotten close to any of mylot friends yet. But I'd wish to.

I haven't been around much lately, but in the past I would find friends when I saw a comment or discussion that seemed interesting or thoughtful, then I'd check the person's profile to see if they had other interesting things to say (or if that one thoughtful comment was the exception rather than the rule).

I have added just a few people. I do so if I find someone who has quality discussions and act respectfully and have interesting views. Most of my friends have added me though. If someone sends a friend request I'll accept unless there is something that really bother me about them. On this site I think i have not rejected anyone.

Being that I am learning more about Mylot, I go to my interests and find someone who has the same interests. It is more fun that way. I am not a sports fan so I don't want to comment on sport discussions. I am not a good cook, so I don't comment on cooking ideas. I love cats. I have a 7 week old kitten of my own and share ideas/discussions with others who have cats. I find myself that yapping on and on about my kitten for a long time. It's fun!!!

I only have a few friends on my list. I tend to add the ones that I know I have answered their discussions and they were really good ones. You are one of the friends on the list wooitsmolly. I find these people are very nice people and have something worth the while to talk about. I had one the other night that was a new user and he had a good discussion that he had written but I had no time to finish reading or time to respond to it for I had to leave for work. His discussion was about some guy that wasn't paying attention in a truck and ended up hitting him on his bicycle at a intersection and he had the right of way. I wanted to finish reading the rest of his story but never wrote down the person who told this story and now I'm wondering what became of it all. I guess I will never know exactly what became of it but I do hope he is alright from what I started to read. I hope to make many more friends on here and continue reading and responding to their discussions.

I don't really have a rhyme and reason how I add friends here in mylot. Usually as I go along my way, checking out and answering discussions, if I found someone whose answer or topic I like, I would usually check their profile and then if I like it, I invite them. I also, normally, invite as friends most people who answer my own discussions, and anybody who send me an invitation, I usually accept. The only time I proably would not accept an invitation, if I don't like the way that person responds to most discussions. I guess, as I just keep visiting the site, slowly I build my circle of mylot friends.

I send requests to people who 'strike my fancy' as you say. People who make me laugh or show that they have heart. I also like strong opinioned people even though my opinions don't always match up, I like to hear what they have to say. I like to think that one reason I am at myLot is to learn something occasionally so I look for people I feel that I might learn something from. That is not to say that I search them out, I just read discussions and find people that way. As for receiving requests, I pretty much say yes to all I receive. There is one thing about a persons profile that will make me say no to their request.... if they are obviously male and ALL of their friends are people who have a female avatar picture...... I figure that I am not really what they are looking for and always say no.
