america.....is it really a free country

well that came about reading some other discussions.....some people seemed pretty fired up...so voice your opinions

I don't think so. the law tries to tell us what to do on too many things to be considered truly free. Just one example is the seat belt laws. Yes I know you should wear your seat belt, but really who am I hurting if I don't wear it. If I die cause I didn't have it on then it is my own fault! I just think it is really sad that we live in a country that a women has a right to her own body and can kill another living human inside of her, but I don't have the own right with my body to choose not to wear a seat belt. How stupid is that!

It's not the democracy it's supposed to be. The rich are voting themselves richer and the poor poorer. People all over the country are protesting the war and illegal immigration, but nothing is ever done about it. Our elected official are supposed to be there to represent us, but it isn't happening. Everything is deteriorating in this country.

Its free to an extent, You can work where you want, live where you want, do what you want. But there are rules that you have to follow. Basically your free once you hit 21
