here's a pretty coin. You won't find these in the pockets of any americans anymore. You can't buy anything for a cent nowadays but I bet you someone would be willing to trade you for this one!

I love Indian Head pennies they are soo neat. My grandmother had some that she left her kids when she passed away I will get some from my mom and hand them down to my chidren. You sure don't see very many of them anymore.

That's really cool. If they are particulary old or in very good condition may I suggest you aquire a protective device for their preservation? An airtite coin holder can keep them from getting scratched up and then you may feel more comfortable handling them....you can get them at pretty much any coin shop, just check your yellow pages for a nearby dealer. For coin values I check out http://coincollector.org/vault/index.html you can get at least an idea of what your coin may be worth, this site is good for many different u.s. coins. You may even want to get your coin encapsulated. This makes it easier to determine it's value, and is pretty much the safest way to perserve a coin (and make it harder for someone to accidentally spend!) I recommend NGC... http://wwww.ngccoin.com/ although PCGS is very good too. Coins make great heirlooms, and their value is almost certain to appriciate with age. Thanks for your comment!
