Yes I cut my own hair,and it doesn't look much different from when I have paid to have it cut,I also do my own color.When you go to a salon to get a cut and color it can run 80.00 or more.But you can do it at home for 10.00 or under if you get the color at a good price.I always do my own nails too.And you can even get at home wax kits that save you a fortune.So you can be frugal and still be beatiful.

I cut my own hair too! I have been since i was 12? i think
i also used to color my own hair when i was younger and into the dyeing thing.
my aunt used to own and run a salon. she's really good.
So I think i just got some of her talent/picked up things from watching her.
people are always look at me weird when i tell them i cut my own hair and always ask how i get the back so straight! lol
i wouldn't pay for a haircut now. pff not when i can do it myself and at least if i screw it up its my fault and i only have myself to blame but i rarely do that lol

yea I know, I've paid people who have messed mine up and it made me so mad.That's why I stopped paying anyone to do it.Cause I can mess it up myself for free, but most of the time I do pretty good.

I've gotten fed up with my hair more than once and hacked at it. I love getting it cut professionally but have a hard time finding a good hairstylist. I'd rather pay and have it look good then have to wear a cap for 2-3 months.

i used to once in a while go to a salon.. emphasis on used to. after the Perm Incident.. i started doing everything myself.. cut, color, perm, style, manicure, everything. this started 20 years ago.. and by now, i do everyone elses hair in the house, as well as the neighbors LOL

Yes I would have to agree w/ you for just going to the salon is a chunk of money just to get the two things I want done that I do myself at home. I have been doing my own hair at home for few yrs now. I only have to spend $5/6 for the hair color and I already have hair cutting scissors at home so it works out to my advantage.

I also cut my own hair. I used to go to a salon and pay $120 to cut my hair. Yes you read that correctly, there is a 1 in front of that 20. Provided her used some really nice shampoo(which I now use at home as well), but unless that shampoo has gold flakes in it, its not worth $65(the price the salon was selling it for on the way out).
I have nothing special with my hair either, just a straight cut across the back, not layered, no bangs...nothing. I can't imagine what all that would have cost.I now cut it myself and save over $100. I also cut my boyfriends hair now too. I can't believe what they charge to do it, even at Hair Cuttery its $25 to do something that takes me 10 minutes and literally no effort.
Good for you for taking the initiative and saving money! I love the feeling, don't you?
