I had an appoinment with one of our customers the day before yesterday. We agreed to meet each other at about 9 am at KFC under the mansion he is working. I arrived at the KFC 7 to 9 am and began to wait for that guy.I informed the guy by sending a message and was told that he set out to KFC at once.Time went to 10 o'clock, but the guy still didn't appear. He said he was in a traffic jam,and it would take him another half hour.Ok,I kept waiting. Then it is almost half past eleven,I was crazy!I have waited for him almost 3 hours, but he told me he was on the way. I hate it extremly! when i finally met him at 5 to 12, I become aweful irritated to him. I can not put up with his terrible behavior--why he can not realize his promise and kept me waiting for almost 3 hours. What do you think of those unpunctual guys? I was so angry about this. How can you teach a lesson to those guys?

Why would you even stay there that long. I would of left. I would of set him a message stating that you are not here and I am leaving. Yes in some cases people do run late and there are traffic jams. Keep in mind a few questions here: How long does it take to where he is to get to where you were? How long with a traffic jam? What kind of traffic jam could it be? Go with these questions and go with your gut instinct on this. I do give you credit for staying that long. You must really like him.

The main reason why I left finally,is the guy is one of my customers,he is buying our company's product.Though the order is small, but that is the first time we met,I like to act politely. It will never happen again and I will ask him to come to our office himself at any time. Thank you.

I would have him come to the office from now on. Yes I understand that you want to be polite but that is a fine line that he is treading on. You have things to do and your time is precious you shouldn't have to waste that much time on someone that is nearly coming.

Good thing you have that attitude to wait Crystalxdr, If I was in your situation, I will leave and will never send him any message.Being punctual in any appointment is very ideal, I can't stand asking someone to wait me that long! He will learn if someone will tell him and someone will just let him arrive in a venue only to find out, the other party is no longer there! LOL!.I am bad but that's the way I am since I value my time much!

Lots of good comments. I enjoyed them. But, waiting sometime depends on the potential value of the customer. Not sure how much the customer paid and what he would likely pay in the future. But, you evidently valued him more than your time. But, in another vein, your customer was dishonest in telling you he would be right there when he probably knew it would actually take hours. I can see why you were angry. Too many people will say what they believe will get them what they want rather than the simple truth. From presidents to simple customers that's an accepted ethical view today. Too bad.

Sometimes people make excuses not to be at a certain place at a certain time. You should not have waited that long. You should have told him that you've waited long enough and that you will meet him at another time. People don't always have a good sense of timing. That guy sounds like he just wasted your time on purpose. Next time if they don't show up on time, then DON'T WAIT! Call back and tell them you will set another time to meet because you have other appointments to attend to. That would work out.

I completely agree with you. i hate it when people act as if your time is not important. I hope that you let him know how inconsiderate he was being.

I didn't.The most regrettable thing is I said nothing when I finally met him.I gave the goods to him and collected payment without any complaints. But you know,I was extremly annoyed at that moment.I regarded him as one of our customers, and I decided not to accuse him of that bad behavior. I should teach him a lesson and let him remember he has done wrongly. Thank you.I never let this kind of guy waste my time again.

I hate people being unpunctual. They should respect our time. Once this happened to me and all my works got postponed and i had to slog for another week to complete them without trouble. I finally closed my account with that guy and informed him to schedule appointment with him in future if he wants to do businees with me. It worked. Sometimes people give excuses which might be real and other times they are just excuses.

I also hates this type of unpunctualness of people.THis type of person thinks that they are only important person in the world.Other's time is not valuable as their. If I was in your place then I will tell the guy as soon as he reaches,I have an important meeting.I have to go just now.I cannot waste a single minute here.If you don't mind make an appointment for other day which suit both of us.This time I think you will maintain your schedule. I think this is the best way to teache this type of guy.

Thank you for your good suggestion. In fact, I did it.I told the guy in phone that I was asked to go back to office urgently, please quick. The worst thing is I didn't complain about him.I thought it is no need to say something since i make up my mind that he would be asked to come to my place next time. Besides,he is a new customer,I don't want to blame for him. Have a nice day.

OMG!!! taht is really terrible... i wouldn't even thinking of waiting for him if he is so late... for me, if i have to wait for a person, i will wait for a maximum of 30 minutes... after that, i will be gone and it is not my fault... you are a very patient person... i hate people who don't appreciate other people's time by being late... we can do something more useful and use our time better rather than waiting for them... take care and have a nice day...
